Minnie Evans
April 14, 2010
On the Good Friday of 1935 Minnie Evans had a dream in which she heard a voice saying “Why don’t you draw or die.” That started her on her long journey as an artist. Mrs. Evans is recognized as one of the most important American self-taught visionary artists of the 20th century. About her art she has said: “I have no imagination. I never plan a drawing. They just happen.”
