This is one of my very favorite pieces by Mr. Freeman.

Who Learns My Lesson Complete?

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

December 11, 2009

Mr. Freeman says this piece is about the garden of Eden before the fall.  It is composed on a large recycled stretched canvas recovered from the trash.  It is the only canvas I have ever seen by Mr. Freeman.

For a Thousand Years in Thy Sight are but as Yesterday When it is Past

December 10, 2009

Here we have a bold composition with several of Mr. Freeman’s visionary iconic elements; stairs, doorways, a clock, and the commanding eye of he Lord.

The All Seeing Eye

Under the Bridge

December 9, 2009

As mentioned in a previous post Mr. Freeman frequently has no good place to store his art.  Sometimes, in order to keep his pictures from the elements, he stashes them in bridge underpasses.  Alas, even there the pictures are not always safe.  This is a large (28 x 37) piece on masonite recovered from discarded furniture.  It became damp and suffered water damage and is also warped.

Tr3 took the Freeman piece “A Woman Of Culture” and incorporated it into collage.

Truth is Truth to the End of Reckoning

December 4, 2009

A minor work distinguished by the knobbly substrate it is rendered on.

Princes Have Persecuted Me Without a Cause: but My Heart Standeth in Awe of Thy Word.

Mr. Freeman again tries to describe the ineffable.

When We Were Kings

December 2, 2009

Mr. Freeman continues to astonish.  I really don’t understand why he has not been recognized.
