Alonzo Clemons

April 27, 2010

Earth Spirit by Herbert Freeman

As a toddler, the prodigious savant Alonzo Clemons, suffered a severe brain injury which left him developmentally disabled.  Alonzo has an IQ in the range of 40-50, but he is a sculpting genius.  He has the ability to quickly mold a perfect three-dimensional representation of an animal after briefly seeing a two-dimensional picture of that animal.  This gift has helped Alonzo to transcend his disabilities and become an active and successful member of his community in Boulder, Colorado.

How amazing that he used putty from the windows when his clay was taken away. So driven, how exiting.

    Have a lovely day.
